I feel like we can get still get within one degree C of accuracy just like this guy with something a lot cheaper. This would only be suitable for use on the extremities because its highest accuracy is in a very small window of range 20 - 40 degrees C. Not impressed with the device though I've learnt something reading about it. Still I would keep it in the junk drawer for the future...

The SA9310M temperature sensor is a 0.125 inch bead thermistor that can detect the temperature of the tissue (skin) on which it is applied. The temperature sensor is called a thermistor. This device converts changes in temperature to changes in an electrical current.
