Welcome to the wiki page for the Spring 2011 Digital Health section of ES 242!!!!
At this point in our development process we need to concentrate on the programming and implementation of our device.
We have all of the components(or most of them) and are learning how they can be controlled. We can separate into groups and have teams develop codes for specific components.
Teams:
Temperature Sensors:
Ferdinand "Ferdy birdy" Aliaj - Has arduino kit
Brendan Demanche
Annie Becerra
Mike Jennings
Pressure Sensors:
Brent Higgins - Has arduino kit This is the code I went with, tested and it seems to work just fine, has a really great display of info, albeit more than needed. I'd like to go through the code line by line, understand how it works and then tweak it to our needs.
Mike Vopelak
Taha Bosaleh
Evan Thomson
Mosfet Switch:
James Hall - Has arduino kit
Joel "Tigress" Daniel
Anthony Marando
Jared "j-j-j-JUNYA" Jordan
Research:
James Pellisier- Link to what might be our best bet for design of the actual product. This is an Under Armour flame retardant hood made of a material called Nomex®. The best price i can find for one is $26.99 plus $5.99 s/h. Nomex® features ArmourBlock™ and Moisture Wicking material which is great for insulation purposes.http://www.midwesthuntersoutlet.com/item.aspx?PID=386418&w=PQ%2BJDyOLrQE%3D

Power Point Presentation (MARCH 4th):
PUT ALL MATERIAL UP HERE FOR THE PRESENTATION INCLUDING THE .PPT DOCUMENT ITSELF. IF UPDATED, PUT THE UPDATED VERSION ON HERE!!
Research: Control overheating of TEC! (Heat Sink) - cpu fan
Hey guys, I'm not entirely sure of what to include in my powerpoint presentation for friday for the TEC portion, since I only have about 2 minutes I was just going to talk about the specific TEC we're using and what it does. Give specs, talk briefly about how it cools the tissue, etc. Would this be sufficient? Is there anything specific you guys want me to include? Any feedback would be appreciated.
Hey I added a few slides on higher than normal body temperatures. - Holly S.

Here, I've uploaded my powerpoint presentation. Let me know what you think, it's brief because I only have 2-3 minutes to talk.

Hey thats good i will talk about the various body temperatures a human body can withstand and how it is relevant to our project.I added a 2 slides let me know if its okay Roshel Looks good but can you make another slide or two on higher than normal body temperatures as well? - Mike J.
I don't know if anyone has ever used Prezi but its basically a better version of Powerpoint. We don't need it on the computer to show it to the class as well. If someone wants to send me the slides theyve worked on I'll put it all together in a Prezi presentation. Let me know. Even if you want to send me some images and key points to put in the presentation thats fine. Just as long as its what you want our audience to see. Email me at michael.c.jennings@gmail.com if you want by tomorrow afternoon some time. Or if anyone else was working on putting the presentation together and wants to check out Prezi let me know. I just started working on it now but heres the link to the presentation I'll be building. Up to 10 people can work on it at a time too so feel free to upload it and change it once I get some work done on it now. http://prezi.com/presentation/michael.c.jennings@gmail.com/d72ki4m/
I will go into further detail on the intended deadlines and will list them on the SCHEDULE, please keep updated and prepare for each class accordingly. We need to eliminate the need for explanations in the beginning of class as it eats up our physical work time severely.... There are many opportunities to post questions and ask myself or a team leader or Dr. Mellodge. We need to eliminate needless redundancy as much as possible so keep up to date on everything that is posted on wikispaces and Cc everyone on the email list, however if you really don't know whats happening....ask.
